Words that describe how I feel!!!!!!! Oh, and 140 days to go!

Needless to say my emotions have been all over the place. A few days ago I thought I was going crazy. I couldn't believe how anxious and depressed I felt. The next day, I woke up and felt completely calm and back to normal. I laugh and cry at the same time and it comes out sounding like a donkey.

Thankfully, I have a very patient husband and Blake has been very understanding!! He knows when to comfort me and when to give me space. And, for the times that his telepathy fails him, I let him know :)

Today my friend Cindy and her baby Ivey came over. I wanted to see how the cats would react to a baby. I was thinking that Yoda would hide (which she did), and Dash would hiss (which he did). I knew he would because that's what he did when Mariah came over when she was little bitty. I'm sure they will adjust, but it will be stressful.

We have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday. Hopefully brankflake will cooperate and we can find out if we're having a girl or boy! This is the 20 week appointment and it's where they do the big ultrasound. They check all organs and maybe we'll get a new picture of him/her.
Check back on Tuesday for the results!!!

The morning sickness is gone!! Finally, after 18 weeks, I feel human again. Yay!!!

4 days going on 5!!!

For four days now I have had absolutely no nausea!!!!! I'm hoping that this is the start of the glowing phase! It's a good thing it started this week because I have been busy with meetings and a dentist appointment. I can't imagine having morning sickness and teeth cleaning. Eewww!
I picked up a couple books at the library other than the ones on the list to the right of the webpage. Jo Frost's (Super Nanny) Confident Baby Care was a really good book. Practical and insightful information. I picked up another book that was more psychological and talked about infant-mother bonding. It was written in the 60's and although some of the information was relevant it seemed outdated where the research was concerned. I'm glad I read it though and I'm going to the library this afternoon to get a couple more books.

Blake and I have been counting down the days until our next appointment (June 2). We really hope to find out the sex of the baby! I'm going to drink some OJ before the appointment to see if the baby will move around more. Our last appointment the baby would not flip around so we could see the goodies.
I haven't been craving any particular foods lately. The foods that I craved in the beginning no longer seem palatable. I do feel like I have an appetite though which is nice! For the past couple months I haven't even wanted to eat.

Feeling good!!!

Woke up this morning and I feel like a new person. Maybe I just needed to rest for a couple days??
I also got my meds refilled, so that might have something to do with it :) OH, and of course, all the prayers I have said to have the sickness taken away!!!
Alrighty, since I'm feeling good, I'm going to get some things done!

Yuck

I don't feel good. I haven't felt good since Saturday. Not that I ever feel great, but sometimes I have a good day. I'm pale, have zero appetite(not even ice cream is tempting), nausea, no energy, headaches, my ears hurt.....I would eventually like to feel better. Maybe it's because I don't sleep well. I don't know. Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. I always wake up and I'm surprised that I don't feel good. I always wake up expecting to feel great :)
Tomorrow is a new day--here's to hoping!!

Blood Test Results

The tests came back negative. Thank You Lord!!

16 week appointment and Nesting :)

Dr. C visit was wonderful, as usual. He is an incredibly
nice person. Blake and I really like him.
They did bloodwork to assess the risk of down syndrome and spina bifida. It's not a yes or no test, but basically a 1 in however-many chance. The ultrasound looked good. The baby is growing! We couldn't believe how much it has grown from a month ago. Dr. C tried to see the sex but as he put it, "it was in the worst possible position!" Hopefully, at the next appointment (June 2) we will be able to see
something!!
Blake and I made the decision, after the appointment, to stick with the hospital birth and not have a homebirth this time. In our area, it's not possible for me to have dual care with him and the midwife. Dr. C isn't willing to see me up until the birth and then have me deliver at home because I'm not really his patient if I deliver at home. Which I completely understand. He can't be liable for a home birth if something happens. It's either one or the other. So, we decided that we aren't comfortable not seeing the doctor again for the next 20 weeks. If we lived in a bigger city there would be more options and a system where doctors and midwives worked together. We are still going to use Janessa as our doula though. I'm so glad she's our neighbor because we're going to start going for walks together. It's amazing how God works out all the details!! I don't think it's a coincidence that she lives on the street next to us.
Nesting:
I've been working on the house like crrrrazy. I really only have a
few things I want done before the baby gets here! ha! The past 2 weeks I've been working on the outside of the windows. Getting them unstuck from the previous homeowners painting them shut and caulking them with space age silicone, sanding (while wearing a mask), painting (while wearing gloves and fume free paint), removing the storm windows and screens and then washing them. It's been a task but I feel great getting it done after living in this house for four years. It just hasn't been a priority until now. All this work has led to my sciatic nerve being pinched and at this moment I am icing and heating. So, I think my body is telling me that I'm doing too much. The nausea has subsided since Sunday, so maybe it's going away for good??? I don't even have that much energy, but I just push myself.
I've also been doing some weird cleaning. I won't get into details, but I'm pretty sure it's OCD!!! I think one day I'll look back and wonder where my brain was!
For the next month I'm going to focus on reading a couple books and doing my hooha exercises regularly.
Blake and I are already falling in love with little branflake. We really can't wait for him/her to get here!!! I can see my belly move already.
I found this article in the NY Times. I can see myself as the lady with the vacuum cleaner hose on page two, (third to last paragraph)!!! haha! http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/27/garden/27nesting.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1
