We'll miss you Uncle Alan

I love his hair in this picture.

On the farm with dad.

Grandma & Grandpa's 50th Anniversary Party

Camp trip to the California desert. That's our handy dandy toilet he made us :) I thought it was genius!!
He loved to fly fish.

Lake Tahoe.

Uncle Alan passed away on Sunday, February 21. I have so many fond memories of him and I'll miss him so much. My heart goes out to his wife Judy and his two year old, Alana.

My favorite memories of being with him are of Dad, Lanier, Justin and I visiting him in California in June of 2001. He took us all over northern California. We spent 3 nights camping in the desert, fly fishing, Lake Tahoe, the giant trees..it was one of the best trips of my life. There's an awesome picture
somewhere of us at Donner Pass (you know, where they ate each other) and he has his chompers on Justin's arm. It was hilarious!!!

He always made us laugh and was an awesome uncle. He wanted me to come live with him in California while he managed my volleyball career (I'd never even played volleyball but he was convinced I could be a pro). :)

I also remember going to Panama City beach when we were younger and always had fun on those trips to the condo with my dad's side of the family.

I loved visiting him in Nashville. He played the song "Dog Police" for Justin and me about 100 times. This song is wicked awesome! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0359hSerDeE
He had a cool house because he lived down the street from the Judds.

I also liked that he was a cat person. His cats, India and China, were sweet companions for him. As a little kid I thought it was cool he had indoor cats!

When someone close to you dies you always wish you could have more time with them. I definitely feel this way now. He was so loved by our family. He was a sweet son, a wonderful brother, an awesome uncle, a devoted father and husband. Words can't express how much he'll be missed.

Quick Update on the 3.5 month old!

Gavin had two teeth break through yesterday! We had to leave infant massage class before it even started because he was having a meltdown and couldn't be consoled. Got home and he slept most of the day, and then we discovered his two bottom teeth!

He's been chewing on his hands and everything else in sight but I didn't think he was teething because it's so early.

I bought some teething tablets and oragel so I'm hoping these help him sleep a little better.
