Blogging/Internet/Technology Vacation and Regular Vacation!!

That's Gavin for ya

I want to do what I want to do and what I want to do is get down and play in the sand!!
See, now look how happy I am!

What is this stuff??

Dad at his office

Dad's office

Poe Springs--72 degree water!!! It was so refreshing--once you got used to it.

He did this hilarious floating thing. The current would take him and he would let his body float to the surface and just hang out.

Exhausted after the springs.

Gavin the destroyer.

He LOVED the blocks!!!

As you can tell it's been a long time since I posted. I needed a break from the internet. It had started to control my every movement! Well, not really, but I wasn't being as productive as I wanted to be and it was because I was spending too much time on that time waster called FACEBOOK. Seriously, my FB vacay was great because it reminded me what life was like before facebook. The downside was that I had to spend a lot of time catching up with people and I missed a bunch of good news and bad/sad news at the time. So, it's a hit and miss. I'm kind of an all or nothing type of person (which I'm working on!!) and so it's hard for me to really do anything moderately. Which brings me to my next point...

I want to start a new blog. I recently tried to do what I wanted in one day with my blog and it took a very long time and was almost impossible to do with a baby. I know this sounds vague, but I don't want my idea stolen, LOL! Anyway, at this point, all I'm trying to do is get my dang kitchen painted and so my several business ventures will have to wait.

On to the the good stuff:::::
Florida was a blast!! I wish we could have stayed longer. The weather was perfect, we had wonderful walks, amazing food, good talks with the parents, spent a couple days in Orlando (which seriously feels like a foreign country!) We went to an outlet mall there and I swear we were the only Americans. Which was awesome because I was like, oooooo listen to the Italians!! Oh, there's some Greek!
Gavin loved the beach. He LOVED it. I'm so happy because we love the beach and I really wanted him to, too. We didn't stay too long because I didn't want him to burn and the umbrella we rented wanted to fly away because of the hurricane off shore. There was no swimming because of the rip tide due to the hurricane. We visited Cocoa Beach which is where I used to go as a kid and we visited Ron Jon Surf Shop. Gavin got told he was "very purty" by this crazy lady in the bathroom and he even got us a free sticker because the guy at the welcome desk wanted to get him to smile. I don't think it worked because he stares at everyone like they are an alien life form (he is memorizing every part of their face, I'm sure :))
Blake and I went camping when we got back and we didn't want that to end either. It was so nice having him to ourselves for 11 days after not having him around much this summer. I wish that we could spend every day together as a family. (on vacation!)

I hope to get back to a regular posting schedule next week!

Smart Baby!

Gavin,
You are too smart for mommy right now. You shouldn't be able to figure out how to unlock the cabinets. But you did. You always know what I'm talking about when I say, "Go get your....truck, car, diaper". You put your toys in the box when I tell you to.
We are pretty sure you have said "yoda". You know how to say "hi, hey" When you see mama or dada you say "baba". You've figured out that if you bang on the bathroom door hard enough it will pop open. You learned that from Dash.
Today when we were on our way to your friend Charlie's 1st birthday party, you were saying da-da in the back seat. Then, at dinner you pointed at daddy and screamed da-da loud!! It was pretty funny and special.
We love you darling child!!!

How to lose weight in a month and then gain it all back in 4 days....and Happy Birthday to my sweetie :)

How to lose weight:

  • cut out junk food: ch-ch-check
  • eat all ya veggies, protein, beans, eggs, salads, brussel sprouts, low fat string cheese, drink ya V-8 juice: double check
  • exercise like it's your full time job: quadruple check
How to gain it back (well, some of it..ok..4 pounds of it) in a couple days:

  • Eat massive amounts of chocolate fudge birthday cake. That's it. That's all you have to do.
  • Plus, eat at Whole Hawg BBQ (which is just divine, btw.)
  • Oh, and maybe that container of ice cream that you got "because I had strep throat a couple weeks ago and maybe my throat is a little scratchy..eh ehm"
  • Not workout for a couple days because your sprained your knee.

So, that's how you do it. That's how you work hard for 6 weeks and lose 9 pounds and then gain 4 back in a matter of 4 days....maaaaaybe it's just water weight??

The good news is that I'm back on the wagon as of yesterday and have about one week before vacation to lose 10 pounds. Totally do-able!!! Bwhahahaha

What Gavin is doing right this second!

He is using the clothes basket full of toys and standing up, pushing it around. Walking with it and he is just so darn proud of himself! Now, he is running with it! HA! He is neked except his little diaper that is soaked and has carrots all over his face...it's almost time for bath and bed but I thought I'd let him play a little and let his dinner settle.

I'd get up and get my camera but then he would stop playing and want to follow me, so I'll just have to take a picture another time.

He is talking to it saying ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-ba! Squealing with delight and he also has a very determined look on his face.

Count it down!!

As of right now there are...

70 days

1668 hours

1000698 minutes

6004090, 6004089... seconds until

Gavin's 1st Birthday!!!!!!!

I have already started planning it. I had all kinds of ideas until I looked online and realized that my original idea didn't exist anywhere except my own head and that would take entirely too long to make those invitations, so I found some other ones that are tres adorable! (You can say that in French or English :0)

I am completely blown away that he will be 1. I think I have time conceptual problems or something, because it does not feel or seem like a year at all.

Anywhoo...I still have a little time to enjoy my little bitty baby before he turns into a big boy :)

Gavin's playmates

All the boys with G-G
Gavin in the choke hold, HA!
So cute!!

Baby Bookworms!
Gavin's friend Sara from playgroup

We have had a fun four days of play! Gavin has spent some good time with his cousins that have visited from out of state. He is a little boy wishing he could be one of the big boys. It has been so fun seeing him interact with the other boys. Gavin tries to show love by grabbing and swatting his hands and kissing/biting everyone. Ha! I have been telling him to be gentle, but I had to really keep an eye on him when he got close to someone else because he likes to pull hair too!
We took Owen to baby bookworms and he loved it. At first he was a little cautious, like, what is going on here?! But then, once it got started he had a really good time.

Over the weekend....

Gavin started talking. Not words, but sweet little babbles that are sounds trying to be words. Sometimes it sounds like he's said something, and Blake and I look at each other and say "did he just say that? naahh...impossible!" I watched him after I had laid him down to sleep. He sat up in his crib, started pointing at the shapes on his sheet, and started talking to them.It was so cute and funny, and of course he didn't fall asleep, but that's another story!

He has started throwing fits when we tell him no. It's funny now because seeing such emotion come out of such a little person cracks us up, but of course, that won't be funny in a year when it's a temper tantrum in the middle of the store.

I had to go to the walk-in clinic on Sunday and got diagnosed with bronchitis, strep throat and a high mono count. I'll be taking it easy this week and I'm disappointed because we were going to Tulsa, had play group planned for here on Wednesday, and family coming in from Michigan. Hopefully by Thursday I will be able to go out in public.

I won $2 from the Harps game!!

Gavin started eating turkey and cheese.
