Count it down!!

As of right now there are...

70 days

1668 hours

1000698 minutes

6004090, 6004089... seconds until

Gavin's 1st Birthday!!!!!!!

I have already started planning it. I had all kinds of ideas until I looked online and realized that my original idea didn't exist anywhere except my own head and that would take entirely too long to make those invitations, so I found some other ones that are tres adorable! (You can say that in French or English :0)

I am completely blown away that he will be 1. I think I have time conceptual problems or something, because it does not feel or seem like a year at all.

Anywhoo...I still have a little time to enjoy my little bitty baby before he turns into a big boy :)

Gavin's playmates

All the boys with G-G
Gavin in the choke hold, HA!
So cute!!

Baby Bookworms!
Gavin's friend Sara from playgroup

We have had a fun four days of play! Gavin has spent some good time with his cousins that have visited from out of state. He is a little boy wishing he could be one of the big boys. It has been so fun seeing him interact with the other boys. Gavin tries to show love by grabbing and swatting his hands and kissing/biting everyone. Ha! I have been telling him to be gentle, but I had to really keep an eye on him when he got close to someone else because he likes to pull hair too!
We took Owen to baby bookworms and he loved it. At first he was a little cautious, like, what is going on here?! But then, once it got started he had a really good time.

Over the weekend....

Gavin started talking. Not words, but sweet little babbles that are sounds trying to be words. Sometimes it sounds like he's said something, and Blake and I look at each other and say "did he just say that? naahh...impossible!" I watched him after I had laid him down to sleep. He sat up in his crib, started pointing at the shapes on his sheet, and started talking to them.It was so cute and funny, and of course he didn't fall asleep, but that's another story!

He has started throwing fits when we tell him no. It's funny now because seeing such emotion come out of such a little person cracks us up, but of course, that won't be funny in a year when it's a temper tantrum in the middle of the store.

I had to go to the walk-in clinic on Sunday and got diagnosed with bronchitis, strep throat and a high mono count. I'll be taking it easy this week and I'm disappointed because we were going to Tulsa, had play group planned for here on Wednesday, and family coming in from Michigan. Hopefully by Thursday I will be able to go out in public.

I won $2 from the Harps game!!

Gavin started eating turkey and cheese.

Welcome, Welcome!

Welcome, Ahoy, Hola, Bienvenidos, Bonjour, Howdy, Greetings to all the new readers :) Please stick around and stay awhile.

Gradually, over the next few months (or longer..my concept of time these days is a little off), I will be transitioning to a new blog. I think I'll be keeping this one up too, but I might be merging the two together. As you can see I'm a little wishy washy with my plans--that's because they are all in my head right now and not formally written, er, typed down.

I'm excited about it because it will combine all kinds of things that I love and will be organized by tabs. I'm always impressed with blogs or websites that have tabs--they're just so
organized!!

Here's a few Gavin pictures to tide you over for the weekend :)

Play time right before nap time..which is why he looks a little dazed...it's tough having such a grueling schedule of exploring and eating fine cuisine!

Toofers...

I think it's hilarious when people baby talk Gavin--I mean complete strangers. I totally do it when it comes to things like poop "stinkypooos", banana "naners"..but the other day we were at Harps and the cashier starts baby talking him and she says, "awwww look at him's toofers!" I almost burst out laughing! So, since then, I've called them toofers. Anyway, Gavin is getting a few more of them and has been cranky in the evenings, and all the other symptoms that come with teething.

Off to rescue Dash.....

What I realized today....but already knew. First, a couple pictures...

His new trick...you tell him to do it and he does this thing where he scrunches up his fists, eyes and bares his teeth and does this moan thing. It's one of the funniest things I've ever seen!

I think I have one of the cutest, sweetest kiddos in the world :)

My house looks like a tornado hit and I just cleaned a
couple days ago.

Today I held Yoda for what was the first time in months.

I love Gavin and Blake oh, oh, oh so much it hurts.

The Harps game is almost over and I haven't won one stinkin' dollar.

Emily Post has made me feel like my etiquette is s
ub par. I'll keep reading the book and making improvements, but I can't make any promises....

Last weekend was the first time at home all day, with all 3 of us, in 5 weeks. It's gonna be a few more weeks bef
ore that happens again. sigh.

I have really great friends and family.

I miss Blake SO much when he works both jobs!!!!!!

I can't do it ALL!

It's hotter than.....

You can fill in your own saying, thank ya very much! I usually say it's hotterdenhades....hah!

I hate summer. Take that back, I hate the heat and humidity. I love lots of things about summer like pools, gardens, home grown tomatoes, vacation, air conditioning, homemade ice cream, and working on my itty bitty tan. That's about it. I really can't wait for the fall and winter.

So, as Gavin and I have been beating the heat I've been thinking about what I really want to blog about. Obviously, I love blogging about what Gavin is doing because one day I want him to read this and know what his life was like when he was little. But, I have this burning creative desire that needs to be fulfilled in either writing, art or crafts. Or all three. Plus, I really would like to make some extra money for some upcoming travels that I need money for or else, I can't go. I am currently working on my crafty candle website so that's a start. I'm also thinking about making soaps that are all artsy fartsy. Since I have readers on 4 continents I figure that the word will get out there about my products a little bit :)

I'm also narrowing down a few ideas for blogs, but the thing about blogs, as you all well know, is that if you don't keep them up everyday then you don't have an audience. And, right now, with Gavin so active and trying to walk, playing with him, teaching him, feeding him, keeping house, making most of our food from scratch, visiting family and friends, playgroup, bookworms, church activities, chipping away at a writing project, working on finishing the remodeling of the house and everything else that life entails, it's pretty hard for me to find time to shower during the day much less keep up the blog everyday! Anywho, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I really want to do what I really want to do and what I really want to do is create. Stop procrastinating that I just need to. find. the. time.

*sigh*
